This page is based on the appendix Web and Vendor Resources printed in the book Authentication. It contains updated contact information and links to Web resources, vendors, and other organizations that produced information or products cited in the book. Addresses and telephone numbers are given relative to the United States, since that's where this Web site resides. Also, the list identifies an enterprise's principal U.S. office if multiple offices exist world wide.

Contact information like this tends to be perishable. While this book was being written, the computer security industry went through a cycle of corporate identity changes, mergers, and acquisitions (e.g. Security Dynamics became RSA Security). Then the industry was struck by a slowdown of the U.S. economy in general and high tech in particular. I produced the first draft of this list in the fall of 2000. By the time the book went to print in the fall of 2001, three major Web sites cited here had been reorganized (invalidating existing URLs) and three biometrics vendors' sites went off-line (and probably out of business). This page updates the list as printed in the book.

Entries are marked as follows:

(New) means a new vendor, product, or technology not included in the book.
(Updated) means an existing vendor and/or product has changed its name or contact information.
If neither appears, then the entry comes from the book's original list.
