Updating the infrastructure

April 20th 2008

Blog maintenance is ‘easy’ compared so some computing tasks, but it’s very persnickety and prone to error. I’ve made a few customizations and I can’t wait to see which ones survived the update.

So Says Green Weaver: Whatever Made Me Think?

January 21st 2008

This link to the blog entry So Says Green Weaver: Whatever Made Me Think? server two purposes.

First, Green Weaver notes unhappily about her resolution to post every day. In my case, I have to say that I don’t want to post every day. I want to take the time to write something worthwhile and I doubt there will always be something worth talking about.

Second, I’m trying to do a trackback. At first I thought I just had to include the link (above). In fact, it looks as if I need to include a ‘trackback’ URL in a separate field when I finish this post.

Why a blog?

December 9th 2007

I’m astonished that it’s taken me till now to start a blog.

I’ve had web sites for over a decade, and I’ve participated in on-line conversations since the days we called this the ARPANET.

These days, the blog is the state of the art for on-line conversations that matter.

Rick.
