SSL Site “Seal”

May 5th 2008 08:37 am

As noted earlier, I’m now using SSL to secure parts of my site. I used to have arrangements like that at Visi.com, my old ISP, but I’m making better use of it with WordPress and such.

Here is the “site seal” that goes with the SSL service I’m using from GoDaddy:

SSL Certificates

SSL does indeed seem to slow the site down, at least when you’re doing secured things. I get a lot more connection timeouts when SSL is in operation. This may just be a feature of GoDaddy. I suppose they want me to pay for a more expensive hosting package.
